Консульство визы дает, но надо в него, Консульство, еще пробиться!
When applying for a long duration visa that is officially available,
your biggest obstacle will be VFS Global:
1) Initially, if you go in person they will tell you that you cannot apply for that duration/category of visa.
2) Politely tell them that the category/duration of visa is shown as available on the VFS and/or HCI website & request that they just submit your application to HCI/CGI.
3) repeat steps 1 & 2 until the VFS agent
grudgingly accepts your application.
4) VFS will warn you again that you will pay your money & not get the visa you are applying for & they will probably get you to sign a disclaimer to that effect.
5) sit back & wait whilst your application is processed & see what duration visa you are granted.
The above is from personal experience. We have up to now been granted the duration & category of visa that we have paid & applied for - I have read on various Internet forums where people have been granted a shorter duration of visa than they have paid & applied for. Where you live dictates whether you apply to the HCI or a CGI unless you apply by post. All our applications have been in person to the CGI in Birmingham.
